Reducing carbon emission and achieving the sustainable development goal is an irreversible trend around the world. As a leading piping manufacturer, RIIFO actively explores new ways of sustainable and coordinated development-- building a waste heat recovery system and a photovoltaic system by relying on abundant solar energy resources.

This $19-million project includes solar panels covering an area of 290,000 square meters. It is expected to produce about 25 million kWh of electricity annually. Besides, compared with thermal power generation, this photovoltaic system can save more than 3,000 tons of coal, reduce about 9,200 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, up to 280 tons of sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission, and over 2,510 tons of dust emission.

While taking electricity generation to another level and realizing energy efficiency, RIIFO also upgraded the equipment, molds for pipe and fittings injection, replacing manual cutting with mechanical cutting. The transformation will significantly increase the working efficiency by 2 times. Moreover, each injection molding machine is equipped with a servo energy-saving system, saving up to 52% of electricity annually.

In fact, it is not the first time for RIIFO to follow the green development. As early as March 2020, ten products obtained EPD certification, including but not limited to PP-R pipes, PEX pipes, PVC drainage pipes, multilayer pipes, crimp fittings and press fittings. It shows RIIFO’s determination to persist in green development for the future.
